Renting
in the Cote d'Azur
Rental price around the Cote d'Azur is determined by the area in
which the rental is located and the size of the apartment. There
are other factors that will increase or decrease the rental price
such as balcony, sea view, garage, security. Here are some rough
guides of what an apartment should cost:
Long-term furnished apartment
Usually 12 month contract but it is possible to find some 6 month
contracts. Normally you will pay water, phone and electricity
unless it states CC (charges comprises) or in other words all
included, which means that you would only need to pay your phone
charges.
If the rental is for 12 months or more then you will also have
to pay Habitation tax. This varies with the area that you live
in.
Furnished apartments rent for €20/m2, for example
if you rent a 60m2 apartment it would cost approximately
€1200 per month (€20/m2 x 60m2
= €1200 per month).
Long-term unfurnished apartment
Usually more than a 2 year contract. When they say unfurnished
they mean unfurnished, the apartment will come with a sink, toilet
and bath. You will need to provide the fridge, bed, kitchen furniture
etc...You will pay all charges, water, electrictiy, Habitation
tax etc...
Unfurnished apartments rent for €15/m2, for example
if you rent a 60m2 apartment it would cost approximately
€900 per month (€15/m2 x 60m2
= €900 per month). If it has a garage add another €80
- €100 on to that.
Short-term rentals
This can be anything from one month to six months, anything less
than one month is classed as seasonal rental. The apartments are
furnished and all charges are usually included except phone. Price
will vary depending on the time of year that you are renting.
